New GLO data plan alert!! The grandmasters of data in Nigeria, GLO, have silently increased the data cap of some of their data plans. In May 2016, Glo broke the internet after they launched the cheapest data plans in Nigeria. This plan offered the best value you could get for your money in terms of data. Luckily for us, GLO is not planning on stopping there. On dialling *777#, I saw that GLO has added more data to some of the plans. This includes the N1,000 and N2,000 plan. The reason may be because those are the most used plans by subscribers. I'm just hoping this sparks another round of data battle among other networks.

This is what GLO Data Plan used to looked like before:

N5,00024Gb30Days

This is the new GLO Data Plan:

To subscribe, just dial *777# and follow the prompt. The plans work on iOS, Android, Blackberry, PC and every other platform
If you look at it carefully, you'll see that they have increased the 1k and 2k plans by 1.2GB and 1.5GB respectively. They have also added a new plan which gives you 2GB + 2.5Gb (On campus)+ N2,000 airtime + 500MB Gift data for just N2,000. This is good news for subscribers of GLO data. The only problem is GLO is very slow in some parts of the country. I have contacted the customer care several times but they just keep saying it'll be fixed soon.
I think maybe they are trying to bribe us by increasing the data cap while they slowly fix their network troubles. I hope it gets fixed ASAP!

In summary, these new GLO Data plan is a welcome development and I hope other telcos will join the bandwagon and start to give more reasonable plans, especially Etisalat. Spread the word, share this post with your friends and let them hear the good news.
