Nigeria's largest online shopping mall, Jumia, has just launched Jumia Local for made in Nigeria products. As part of the celebrations to mark Nigeria's 56th independence celebrations, Jumia Nigeria has launched the new franchise which is aimed at promoting Made In Nigeria products to Nigerians and Africans. These products are made by Nigerian entrepreneurs and will be delivered to your doorstep following the same Jumia standards and quality assurance.

The greatest thing about Jumia local is that merchants will be able to sell their products at 0% commission while still getting equal promotion on Jumia's social media platforms and other marketing channels This is an awesome initiative, and I believe every local manufacturer should take advantage of this.

Jumia Local logoAs a local entrepreneur, as long as you manufacture or assemble your products in nigeria, you are eligible to sign up for Jumia Local. Just register as a merchant and start selling your products. Your products will be seen globally and it is a great opportunity for you to expand your business. One individual who has benefitted from using Jumia is Jay Osbie. Jay Osbie is a menwear fashion brand based here in Lagos, Nigeria.
Owned by Olajuwon Isola-Osobu, the brand's Made in Nigeria wears sold more than 5,000 pieces of fashion items in their first 6 months on Jumia. He is famous for the "Ello bae" tees in partnership with Falz d Bahd Guy and the VJ Adams Denim Brand of shirts. You can hear his full story in the video below. Other Made in Nigeria brands featured on Jumia Local include Jay Osbie, Virtue Clothiers, Mr. Ekpa and Sky Run. Feel free to check them out and support the movement. Some of the categories of items include mobile phones and Accessories, Electronics, Fashion and lots more. Jumia Local is a wonderful initiative and I expect all Nigerian entrepreneurs to take full advantage. It is an awesome opportunity to put your brand shoulder to shoulder with other recognised names and who knows? you may become even bigger than Jay Osbie. Always buy Made In Nigeria to grow the Naira.
