Just when everyone was starting to think Google's Android One project did not live to it's hype, top chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, have announced the Xiaomi A1, the company's first Android One device.

The Xiaomi A1 packs all the awesome features of Android One plus an upgraded hardware. The phone will cost about $234 (~ N84,200) that's way more than the usual $50 - $100 Android One devices which had been released earlier.

New Smart Condom Tracks Sex in Real Time (You can even share your Stats)

Smart condoms.. really? 😒. Internet of things (IoT) has found its way into the most intimate part of our life, SEX. Yes, this new smart condom aims to give you the ability to track your *coughs* sexual performance *coughs* and even share your stats for everyone to see how good bad you are in bed.

The smart condom is produced by a UK company called i.Con. The "condom" is more like a c**k ring that fits over the regular condom and tracks your sex stats while you do your thing. It can also detect certain STDs like syphilis & Chlamydia.

Smart Condom from i.Con
Behold.. the new weird wearable

The i.Con smart condom tracks the following stats:
  • Thrust speed
  • Number of Calories Burned
  • Thrust Velocity
  • Average skin temperature of your John Thomas
  • Number of styles/positions used
  • Number of times you had sex.
In fact, it aims to answer all your burning questions about sex and pair with the mobile app to give yo visualized reports.

More Weird Tech: Smart Breast Pump for Nursing Mothers

The smart condom will come with a one year warranty and has a micro-usb port that provides 5 to 8 hours of usage (I'm still not sure what the usage means). It will use a combination of nano-chips and sensors to detect activity and can pair with your phone via bluetooth so you can track activity. Weh Don sir

Questions have been raised about how the device will work, most importantly because no pictures or demo of the device is available. Although, the company has confirmed that the device will be available in one size with "band adjustment feature".

The  smart condom is currently available for pre-order for about £59.99 (about $74). Check it out here. If you are worried about privacy, they say all data will be kept anonymous but users can share the data with their friends or the whole internet.

How to Achieve Perfect Android Security - Guest Post

No comments :
Smartphones now number in the billions worldwide and have become a necessity for just about everyone. We use it for everything from playing games to storing personal information such as our contacts and even our banking information. It’s no surprise many cybercriminals target smartphones to gain access to this information. While all smartphones can be hacked, Android— even with its current OS, Nougat—faces the most security issues due to its open nature and fragmentation. However, there are ways to protect yourself against potential hackers, malware and more.
Android security

Use a Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Security experts have long warned people not to connect their laptops to public networks. While many take the advice seriously for their computers, when it comes to smartphones, many people have no problem using an unsecure network to access personal information. However, the same problem exists for smartphones as for computers. Anyone can potentially access your connection to see all of the data you send through the network.

This is where a VPN is useful. It secures your internet connection through a remote location, guaranteeing all the data you send and receive is encrypted. Not only does this prevent hacks, but it also provides some privacy when browsing the web. So the next time you connect to a WiFi hotspot, make sure you go through a VPN.

Use the Password Feature

One of the easiest ways for people to steal your information is by simply swiping your phone. If you don’t have a PIN or password for the lock screen, they can easily access all of your personal information. As vigilant as you might be, there’s still the possibility that you lose or, worse, someone steals your phone. The easiest way to prevent people from accessing your apps and contacts is to have a password. Shockingly, 34 percent of Android users don’t even use this simple feature. This simple step can deter potential hacks.

If you want to go a step further, you can also assign passwords to specific apps to keep them even more secure. While it might be a pain to type it in each time you use it, at least you’ll have another layer of protection.

Pay Attention to App Permissions

One of the best ways to avoid any viruses or malware from being installed on your phone is to download apps directly from the Play Store. With that said, even this doesn’t assure your security 100 percent of the time. While Google does keep an eye on potentially harmful apps, some do slip through the cracks.

The best way to protect yourself is to pay attention to the permissions when installing a new app. This generally pops up before installation and will show you all of the other features on your phone the app wants to access. Some of these may make sense. For example, a photo editor might request access to your camera. However, there are times where it might not make sense, such as a calculator app asking for access to your contacts. If you do see something suspicious, do not install the app, and contact Google to flag it as potentially inappropriate or harmful.
Android permissions

Use a Security App

Although Android now offers numerous many of the same features of anti-virus and security apps, it’s still a good idea to have one on your phone, as you can simply tap a button to protect your device. These apps generally offer several different features such as:
• Scanning your app list for potential malware
• Remotely locking your device and wiping the memory should it get stolen
• Detecting potentially dangerous sites and emails
• Backing up your phone
Secure phone

These options are especially useful for people using an older version of Android that does not already have these features in their Android Device Manager. Of course, a security app is only as good as the user, so it’s still up to you to steer clear of malicious sites, emails and apps. Once the malware is installed, a security app cannot prevent it from infecting your device.

These four tips can help protect your privacy and keep your device more secure. Remember to update your device when Google releases a new security update, as these often patch vulnerabilities hackers have taken advantage of. The best rule of thumb is to stay alert and read the fine print whenever downloading anything. It might take some time, but in the end, you’ll be safer.

What other ways do you keep your smartphone safe from hackers? Let us know in the comments below.

How to detect fake SD cards(Memory Cards)

I know a lot of us have had various experiences from buying fake memory cards. You buy an 8Gb SD card just to discover it can accept only 250mb worth of data despite showing clearly you still have more than 7Gb space left. It can be very annoying and sometimes hilarious, but not to worry its time you prevent such awkward situations. Today, i will be showing you two ways to identify fake SD cards.

METHOD 1: SD Card Insight
fake vs real sd cardSD card insight is a mobile application that helps you get "insights" on the SD card. It displays the Manufacturer's details, original size etc of your SD card in an instant. It is a free, fast and easy to use application. All you have to do is insert your SD card in your phone and in an instant, it displays vital information about your device like Name of manufacturer, date of manufacture, product name, serial number etc. The application can also view the validation of the SD card against its class rating (Class 2,4,6 and 10) for the minimum data transfer rate. You can download SD card insight from Google Play store or Alternative Mirror Link.

sd card testsd card test

METHOD 2: H2testw
H2testw is a free PC tool which can be used not only to detect fake SD cards but also fake USB drives. You can even check your USB flash drive for errors by filling it with test data while it verifies it. It is a must have tool if you own a PC. You can download H2testw from here.

sd card test
With these two tools, you should definitely not fall victim to fake SD card peddlers. You are now smarter. The following images below show you how to identify fake SD cards at a glance (though this may not be 100% effective), so you don't even have to look twice at that fake SD card.

How To Permanently Delete Files From Windows PC/Laptop

1 comment :
If you think you know how to permanently delete files and folders, think again. Do you know that whenever you delete a file from your PC, it doesn't delete permanently. It stays hidden somewhere deep inside your hard drive. Using different paid and free file recovery softwares, the file can easily be recovered.. Whether you delete by pressing "delete" or "Shift + Delete" or "Empty Recycle Bin", that file is still somewhere inside your hard drive waiting for someone to bring it out of hiding.
Luckily, there are softwares which can help you permanently delete files and folders from your laptop and PC. One of these softwares is Folder Shredder, a free tool which you can use to permanently delete files so no one can recover it.
File shredder

Folder Shredder is a free tool for Windows that allows you permanently delete files and folders from your PC. It is a very portable application and does not require any installation. The simple interface allows you to easily navigate through the software. It helps you take control of the information you don't want anybody else to find by permanently removing the files and making it impossible to recover the files.

  • Open the App
  • Click Browse and select the file/folder you want deleted
  • Click Start Shredding
  • Wait while it shreds the file
  • Your file is now permanently deleted.
Folder shredder

Folder shredder uses the best method to delete files and folders making it impossible to recover the deleted files. It overwrites over and over on alternate patterns, rewrites the files in binary mode, shrinks the file, rewrite the file again, encrypt and renames it, then deletes it permanently. The developers claim the software has the same military grade shredding capabilities with almost 20 times rewrite so that its not recoverable.

If you are someone who keeps sensitive files on your Laptop or on your PC. You must download Folder Shredder so whenever you delete the file, it deletes permanently.

Personally, I feel the price is still a bit on the high side, no thanks to the problematic Forex situation in the country. Tecno may also be partly to blame by releasing the first indigenous Android device costing over N100,000.

Despite the high cost, the Innjoo 3 flagship device still presents high value for the price.

What's your opinion about the Innjoo 3? PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT! Thank you!
